Sodium Gluconate Retarder(99%)

Sodium Gluconate is the sodium salt of gluconic acid, produced by fermentation of glucose. It is a white to tan, granular to fine, crystalline powder, very soluble in water. Sodium Gluconate referred to as retarder, it is a set-retarding admixture, and it can slow down the hydration of cement, prolong set time, and extend the working life of concrete for long periods without any negative influence on the concrete quality. It complies with ASTM C 494, Type B, GB8076-2008 and GB50119-2003.

Performance

• Extending concrete initial setting time for proper finishing without cold joint during hot weather.

• Increasing the workable time of concrete up to several hours.

Applications

• Construction Industry: Sodium Gluconate is an efficient set retarder and a good plasticiser & water reducer for concrete, cement, mortar and gypsum. As it acts as a corrosion inhibitor it helps to protect iron bars used in concrete from corrosion.

• Electroplating and Metal Finishing Industry: As a sequestrant, sodium Gluconate can be used in copper, zinc and plating baths for brightening and increasing luster.

• Corrosion Inhibitor: As a high performance corrosion inhibitor to protect steel/copper pipes and tanks from corrosion.

• Agrochemicals Industry: Sodium Gluconate is used in agrochemicals and in particular fertilisers. It helps plants and crops to absorb necessary minerals from the soil.

• Others: Sodium Gluconate also used in water treatment, paper and pulp, cleaning agent for glass bottle, photo chemicals, textile auxiliaries, plastics and polymers, inks, paints and dyes industries,chelating agent for cement, printing and metal surface water treatment, steel surface cleaning agent, plating and alumina dyeing industries and good food additive or food fortifier of sodium.

Use and Dosage

Add in proportion and mix thoroughly. Recommended dosage is 0.01 – 0.06% of binder weight. Therefore, in many cases it is advisable to carry out trial mixes.

Package, Storage & Shelf Life

For powder: Powder packed in 25kg bag,1150kg jumbo bag.

It should be stored in a dedicated warehouse that is well-ventilated and dry and keep away from moisture.

Shelf Life: Minimum 12 months. After the expiration date, it can be used if testing results is qualified.
